What is this? "Page Not Found Error"

The "Page Not Found Error" is what a user sees when they get to a web page that no longer exists because of broken links on the site. This phrase is given in response from which the web service sends back as a HTTP status code of 404, indicating a page not found. This phrase can cause the user to leave your site and move on to another site. You can keep that user by simply putting useful content information in that space. For instance, still let them know that the page cannot be found, and use links to articles, blogs or post relevant to your site. Make sure the page looks and navigates in accordance to the rest of the site to keep them surfing. Also, the web server should return an actual 404 HTTP status code when the missing page is requested to prevent it from being indexed by the search engines.
